Klasický pohádkový příběh vyprávěný neméně slavnými interprety. Jednoho dne si vyřezal pan Gepetto z polínka panáčka. A stal se zázrak, panáček ožil, hýbal se a mluvil. Gepetto jej pojmenoval Pinocchio, vyrobil mu šaty z papíru, a aby se panáček vyznal ve světě, poslal jej do školy. Prodal kvůli tomu i svou kazajku, jen aby měl Pinocchio slabikář. Jenže nezvedený panáček do školy nešel a svůj slabikář vyměnil za lístek do loutkového divadla. Naštěstí se nad ním slitoval principál divadelního souboru a věnoval Pinocchiovi pro Gepetta pět zlaťáků. Dva potulní šizunkové, lišák s kocourem, se naivního Pinocchia o jeho poklad snažili připravit, ale nakonec, s pomocí hodných zvířátek i dobrotivé víly, se Pinocchio šťastně opět shledal s Gepettem. Slavnou dětskou knihu napsal její italský autor již před sto čtyřiceti lety. Příběh nezvedeného dřevěného panáčka, který se nakonec, po mnoha dobrodružstvích a nezbedách, stane chlapcem, se stal předlohou řady uměleckých ztvárnění ve filmu i na divadle po celém světě. Tato naše nahrávka vznikla podle dramatizace v roce 1969 a využila schopnosti Jiřiny Bohdalové ztvárnit věrohodně a s humorem dětskou postavu. Ke zlatému kádru české interpretační školy ostatně patří celý další herecký tým. Díky všem tvůrcům se tento Pinocchio řadí k tomu nejlepšímu, co u nás za poslední půlstoletí před mikrofonem vzniklo.
